KENLY — Wayne Joyner, 62, of the Mt. Zion community, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Marsh Swamp Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Wayne retired after 40 years in banking as senior vice-president of The Heritage Bank. He served in the Army and was proud of his service to his country. While he loved hunting, fishing and golf – his greatest love was time he was able to spend with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Page Joyner in 2006.
Surviving is his wife, Nell Lewis Joyner; daughters, Heather Scott and her husband, Dewey, of Lucama and Jessica Bowman of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, DJ and Charlie Scott, Thomas and Samuel Bowman; father, Charlie Joyner of Stotts Crossroads; and brother, Horace Joyner, and his wife, Sarah, of Wilson.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, tonight, 6 – 8.
