Thelma Elizabeth Pickett Applewhite, 75, was called home to eternal rest Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 by God in His infinite wisdom and power.
Thelma was born Aug. 19, 1937 in Wilson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1004 Railroad St. Pastor Beverly Hamm will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Left to remember her with love and thankfulness are her daughters, Joyce Allen, Mary Barnes (Robert), and Lakeisha Applewhite, all of Wilson; her sons, Larry Applewhite, James Applewhite and Jesse Pickett, all of Wilson; three sisters, Carolyn Inman of Jacksonville, Delores Pickett and Dorothy Lewis, both of Wilson; three brothers, William Pickett and Jimmy Bailey, both of Wilson, and Saul White of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St. The family will receive friends at all times at 613 Stephenson St., and will assemble there one hour prior to the service in preparation for the funeral procession.
