Stella Jones Batchelor, 73, of Wilson went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 28, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pastor Ronnie Bass will officiate.
The family will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy., and other times at 3009 Tilghman Road.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who attended New Beginnings Community Church in Wilson.
Stella is survived by her son, Jesse W. Batchelor Jr. and wife, Marilyn, of Wilson; her daughter, Debbie Langley and husband, Tony, of Nashville; her five grandchildren, Jeremy Batchelor and wife, Shana, Melanie Batchelor, and Jared Batchelor and wife, Sarah, all of Wilson, Nichole Huff and husband, Bryan, of Lexington, Ky. and Nicholas Langley and wife, Ashley, of Nashville; eight great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Frances Hamm of Sharpsburg and Peggy Viverette of Rocky Mount.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie W. Batchelor Sr.; her parents, Robert Wooley Jones and Essie Belle Farmer Jones; and three brothers, Bill Jones, Robert Jones and Frank Jones.
