BENSON — Spencer James “Sandy” Pridgen, 66, formerly of Wilson, passed away Friday. The family will receive friends tonight, 7 to 9, at 3306 Brook Lane, Wilson, and 3 – 5 p.m., Sunday, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy., Wilson.
“Sandy” is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janie Marie Pridgen; two sons, Spencer J. Pridgen II and wife, Wendy, of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Brian Pridgen and wife, Michelle, of Wilson; four grandchildren, Hope and Faith Pridgen of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Matthew and Elizabeth Pridgen of Wilson; seven sisters, Melva Reason and husband, Donnie, of Wilson, Terry Marquez of Johnston County, Sugie Davenport and husband, Mark, of Washington, Phyllis Evans of Nashville, Beth Jewell and husband, Joey, of Thomasville, Kara St. John and husband, Ray, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kathy Parham and husband, Bill, of Ramseur; two brothers, Phil Pridgen and wife, Ann, of Angier, and Tommy Pridgen of Cove City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Dallas Pridgen and Faye Smiley Pridgen; and two brothers, A. D. Pridgen and Matt Pridgen.
