KENLY — Seth Thomas “Boot” Shaw Jr., 85, of 5647 N.C. 581 S., died Aug. 19, 2012 at Wilson Medical Center. He was the son of the late Seth Thomas and Georgiana Shaw.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Rocky Branch United Church of Christ, 5968 N.C. 581, Kenly. Elder Henry Cox will officiate. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Church Cemetery.
Mr. Shaw leaves to cherish his memory three brothers, Spencer Shaw (Ozzie) of Enfield, Conn., George C. Shaw of Kenly and James C. Shaw of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Daisy S. Crump (Spingarn) of Wilson and Claudette S. Haskins of Lynchburg, Va.; two nieces, Renee Stewart and Gabrielle Troxler (Wallace); four nephews, Regan and Eric Crump, Boris Shaw and Jemon Haskins; several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. SW, Wilson. The family will receive friends Wednesday at Rocky Branch United Church of Christ from 7 to 8 p.m. At all other times, the family will receive friends at the residence where they will also assemble Thursday at noon in preparation for the funeral procession.
