Ruby Myers Davis, 103, of Wilson, died Sunday, June 21, 2009.
Mrs. Davis was born in Yadkin County and lived in Winston-Salem, until relocating to Wilson seven years ago to be near a son. She raised her family in Winston-Salem with her husband of 54 years, Paul Lee Davis, who died in 1989. A graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, she taught in Forsyth County Schools for more than 30 years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Davis of Wilson; a sister; and a brother.
Funeral, Wednesday, 11 a.m., Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 3733 Ogburn Ave, Winston-Salem, followed by interment in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are sons, Wade Davis (Betty) of Chapel Hill and Henry Davis (Sandra) of Wilson; grandchildren, Amy Timberlake, Paula Bagwell, and Noah Davis; four great-grandchildren; a sister; and a brother.
