Geraldine “Gerry” Burgoon, 69, of Oldtown, Md., formerly of Hampstead, Md., died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at York Select Specialty Hospital in York, Pa. Born in Wilson on Nov. 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Leamon Franklin Evans and Sarah Elizabeth Bailey Evans. She was the wife of Thomas E. Burgoon III, her husband of 49 years.
She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed life itself and in her spare time enjoyed bingo, bowling and hummingbirds.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas E. IV and Tammy P. Burgoon of Wilson, John M. Burgoon of Ft. Myers, Fla., and James E. and Lisa F. Burgoon of Westminster, Md.; her grandchildren, Jacob, Travis, Brandon, Emily and Mason Burgoon; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bobbie J. and Donna Evans.
She was predeceased by her brother Billy Wayne Evans.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010. at Oldtown United Methodist Church, 18811 Oldtown Road Southeast, Oldtown, MD 21555.
