ROCKY MOUNT — Eula Mae Willis Hooker, passed away April 11, 2012. She lived the last years of her life at Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sam Willis Sr. and Carrie Mae Campbell Willis; her daughter, Sylvia Blaylock Long; sister, Carolyn Willis Raynor; and brothers, Jarvis, Raymond, and Willie Sam Willis Jr.; also by two husbands, McKinley Mullins and Lemuel Hooker.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kym Long Wallace (Wayne) of Summerville, S.C., Greg Long (Donna) of Durham, and Jason Long (Cari) of Cary; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Madison and Rose Wallace, Justin Long, Keaton, Reece and Sasha Long; one sister, Beatrice Willis Jones (Zedic) of Bowie, Md.; son-in-law, Elwood Long (Jean Davis Long) her immediate caregivers of Wilson; several nieces and nephews; along with many friends who include Joyce and Dwayne Vick.

She was a longtime faithful member of the South Rocky Mount Church of God, now known as Ridgecrest Worship Center

Mrs. Hooker spent much of her working life, beginning as a teenager, at Rocky Mount Mills and later at Nash General Hospital until her retirement due to declining health.

Family visitation at Johnson Funeral Home in Rocky Mount will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, with a Celebration of Eula’s life service led by Pastor Greg Long, Pastor David Whitley and Pastor Elwood Long at 2 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Pineview Cemetery.
