KENLY — Eula Estelle Godwin, 86, passed away at Wilson Medical Center Monday morning, June 24, 2013.
She was born Dec. 5, 1926 in Johnston County, and was the daughter of the late Charles Ruffin Godwin and the late Lubertie Scott Godwin. She was a lifelong member of Center Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she was active in many roles including serving as elder and a Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Godwin is preceded in death by her sisters, Udell Cockrell and Mazelle Godwin; and her brothers, B.C. Godwin, Kermit Godwin, Thurman Godwin, Thurston Godwin, Cleotha Godwin, Aubrey Godwin and Ray Godwin.
She leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Center Ridge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Richard McDuffie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service in the fellowship hall.
As per Ms. Godwin’s wishes, donations can be made to the Center Ridge Presbyterian Church or a charity of one’s choice, in her memory.
