Esther Mae Murphy Dixon, 78, a resident of Avante at Wilson Nursing Care Center, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Wilson Medical Center.
Loving memories are forever cherished by two sisters, Jennie Hampton of Greenville and Jean Woods of San Jose, Calif.; three brothers, Raymond Murphy (Betty) of San Antonio, James Murphy Sr. of Wilson, and Linwood Earl Murphy (Pearl) of Hennepin, Okla.; a goddaughter, Thelma Rogers of Wilson; a host of other special relatives and friends including a special, special niece, Rosemary Murphy Artis of Elm City; and a special friend, Plummer “Buddy” Ruffin Jr.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. SW. The Rev. Keith Davis will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext.
A public viewing will take place Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Wilson. All other times the family will receive friends at 601 Lynnhaven Drive, Elm City, where they will also assemble one hour prior to the funeral service in preparation of the funeral procession.
