Devitt Newsome Jr., 78, of 1414 Forest Hills Road, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at Wilson Medical Center.
Loving memories are forever cherished by his loving wife, Lillie Holmes Newsome of the home; three children; two brothers; two sisters; a host of other special relatives and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Perry’s Temple Original Free Will Baptist Church, 5000 Tarts Mill Road. Bishop J.N. Perry will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext.
A public viewing will take place Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. SW., with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. All other times, the family will receive friends at the residence where they will assemble one hour prior to the funeral service.
