AMITYVILLE, N.Y. — Clarence Earl Edwards, 64, formerly of Wilson, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at the North Port Veterans Hospital, Long Island, N.Y. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m., at New Hope Institutional Baptist Church in Amityville, N.Y.

Loving memories are forever cherished by his wife, Clara Smith Edwards, of the home; his children, Tabitha Edwards of New York, Darris Edwards and Esskilaro “Bae Bea” Morgan, both of Wilson, Stacey Edwards of Atlanta; his sister, Pastor Mary Jo Atkinson (Bobby Ray) of Wilson; his brothers, Roy Lee Edwards (Hattie), Wiley J. Edwards of Wilson, and Ed Lee Edwards of Silver Springs, Md.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

A local memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at St. Luke Free Will Baptist Church in Stantonsburg.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Mary Jo Atkinson of 2221 Fieldcrest Road, Wilson.
