Charles Ray Harris, 60, of Wilson, passed away July 18, 2012.
He was born in Wilson County on Aug. 21, 1951. Following his service in the U.S. Marines, he graduated from the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science and worked for many years in this field. Butch enjoyed NASCAR but was better know as being an avid Duke basketball fan since childhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Harris and Christine Baker Ball; and a granddaughter, Bethany Dakoda Harris.
Butch is survived by his children, Michell Price (Kenny) and Mickey Harris; a sister, Brenda Joyce Shamloo (Cyrus); brothers, Royce Harris (Susan) and George Harris (Becky); three granddaughters and two grandsons; ex-wife and caregiver, Carolyn Williams Harris; and very special cousin and best friend, Ricky Felton.
A memorial and celebration of Butch’s life will be held at Sweet Maria’s, 415 W. Nash St., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m.
