Bonnie Davis DeBruhl passed away Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 100 Green St. NE., where she was a member. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Robl III will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy.
Bonnie was a graduate of East Carolina University receiving an undergraduate degree in Education and a master’s degree in Psychology and Guidance Counseling. After moving to Wilson, she owned and operated DeBruhl’s Dress Shop for 25 years before retiring. Bonnie’s impeccable sense of style brought customers from all corners of eastern North Carolina. The store was not just a place to get something to wear, but also a place where you could have a good time and socialize with friends.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Lisa Bass Naber and Angela Lynn Bass, both of Wilmington; her grandchildren Davis and Jordan Naber, both of Wilmington; her sister, Frances Gregory and husband, John, of Richmond, Va.; brothers, Richard “Dickie” Davis of Wilson and Delton Davis of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman DeBruhl; and her parents, Richard Edward Davis and Flossie Edmundson Davis.
