Alvin Dildy

Alvin Dildy, 84, of Wilson left his loved ones and friends May 1, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Whitley Dildy, in February 2010.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Wilson Memorial Service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Gary Walling and the Rev. Johnny W. Hendricks.

He is survived by his daughter, Trudy Lewis (Dale) of Raleigh; sons, Kelly Dildy and Kenneth Dildy (Tommie Ellen), both of Wilson; grandson, who was the apple of his eye, Trevor Dildy of Wilson; stepgrandchildren, Ryan Lewis (Alexis) of Sprint, Texas and Kate Lewis Keith of Clayton; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Lilly Heder and Alena Lewis; sisters, Peggy Gay of Walstonburg, Janie Waters “Shorty” of Charlotte and Julia McCullen (R.E.) of Seven Springs; sisters-in-law, Louise Albritton of Hookerton and Chris Dildy of Littleton; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Wilson Memorial Service, Thursday, 7 – 8:30 p.m., and other times at the home of Kenneth and Tommie Ellen Dildy, 4502 Hatcher Lane, Wilson.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Wilson Medical Center and his caregivers, Marie Jones, Mary Ruffin, Jennetta Coley, Volnina Robinson, and Joyce Miller; and dear family friend, Helen Finklea.
